I have heard that laptops are incredibly useful in law school and I have also heard that they are an unnecessary risk, any thoughts?
I know a number of people who are happy without one but honestly I'd be lost without mine. I type much faster than I write so taking notes in class is considerably easier and it keeps me organized. All of my notes (both those taken while reading and those taken in class) are in one easy-to-read place. Plus if your school has wireless internet, researching can be done from the comfort of your library carrel or study room or the stairwell or wherever you feel like getting online.
